Be anxious for NOTHING!!!

This week’s video is a motivational/inspirational one.  A scripture I have known most of my life was brought back to my memory last week as God led me back to the basics to apply it to my life.  Listen in as I share with you what He showed me.  What are you anxious or worried about right now?  I pray that after you tune in, whatever has troubled you will be troubled by your prayers and faith in God!  Be anxious for NOTHING my friends…and I do mean NOTHING!!!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV

8 years later…still on time :0)

IMG_5998This morning Facebook took me back to a wonderful memory. It was when I planted my first garden in 2009.  It showed me a picture I had posted and right below it were words from my beloved Mother.  Word spoken eight years ago rang every so true and in perfect time for me today.  You see I am working on a project.  At first I was super excited about it.  The more I dove into it the more it fascinated me and elated me.  Then I realized the schedule I would have to create and keep and that thing overwhelmed me.  I slowed down the process.  Working on it, but slowly.  I missed a personal deadline and then I just stopped.  It’s on my heart and mind daily and I know it’s a God idea, so I have to finish it.  So this morning as I was getting ready of course it came back to my remembrance and I said, ok.  I will do it.  It’s hard work, I’m afraid, I don’t know how it will be received, but God…I’m going to do it.  Then I saw this post.  My mom was referring to my garden at that moment…but years later she is encouraging me in a God assignment.

May I relay that same message to you my friend?

HARD WORK! GOD WILL SEND THE HARVEST!   EXPECT IT!

HARD WORK Anything worth substance and eternal rewards will be hard work.  It will be doable and if you’re anointed to do it I believe there is a level of grace that comes with the assignment.  But don’t be mistaken my friend, it will be hard work.  But you can do it.  You must do it.  You will do it. Don’t be afraid of hard work.  Work it. Walk out the process in obedience and keep going!

GOD WILL SEND THE HARVEST God will send the harvest.  Just like in my garden, all we can do is plant the seeds and water them.  I cannot make them grow.  I have no sun to shine on them.  As hard as I may try, that is not in my control.  So too with our life and God assignments.  All we can do is be obedient, work the gift, write the vision, run with it.  Be obedient.  But whatever comes of it is up to God.  If He tells us to do it, He will grace us with the strength and the endurance to see it through. That to me is the freeing part.  All I am responsible for is obedience and doing my best.  The pressure of the results do not lay with me, they lay with God because He gave the assignment and He sends the harvest.

EXPECT IT! This may be the point we overlook.  We do, we pray, we believe, but do we expect it…a harvest?  I know when I planted my garden I was out there every morning, praying over it and looking to see what was growing or blooming.  Sometimes each morning all I saw was dirt, but God knew underneath the dirt a beautiful miracle was taking place.  So too with you dearly beloved.  Do what God has given you to do.  Don’t stop, keep going.  Even if it feels like nothing is happening, you don’t know what God is doing behind the scenes. If you stop watering the seed and stop checking on it and stop caring…you miss the harvest.  Please dearly beloved, don’t miss the harvest.  Please keep going.  Please keep trusting God.  Please keep expecting.  Expect the ending to that song you’ve been working on.  Expect the finances to fund that big idea.  Expect the love of a lifetime to greet you soon.  Expect that pregnancy test  to finally read positive.  Expect what God showed you and promised you when He gave you the big dream and assignment.

That’s it my friends. I leave you with the same words my precious Mom gave to me 8 years ago that ring ever so true today…

HARD WORK! GOD WILL SEND THE HARVEST!   EXPECT IT!

Love ya’ll!

~Alexis

He cares…

…casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. ~1 Peter 5:7

This morning on my drive into work I was praying, as I do every morning. For traveling grace and mercy, for protection, for God to cover me.  Then my prayers moved on to others.  I noticed the little boy I always see on the drive to work wasn’t waiting at the bus stop and I remembered it was spring break. I prayed he actually got to do something fun and not just sit around the house.  Then my prayers moved back to me.  I’m really questioning different situations right now in my life.  Wondering is it a God thing.  Wondering what I should do…if anything.  Asking God who is this person and who are they to me.  Looking at some friendships. Questions just spiraled out of my head and heart and then in the midst of it I said you know what.  I can’t control this. I don’t know what to do with it… so I am going to cast it on you God, because you care.  Wait a minute. You Care.  YOU CARE…you actually care.  You care if I get embarrassed, you care if my heart breaks, you care about my future, you care about my now, YOU CARE.  What exactly does care mean – “the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance and protection of someone”.  You know what that means?  When God cares for you – He’s got you…completely!  My Pastor preached on the fact that God cares just a few weeks ago, but it jumped in my spirit again this morning.  He really does.  He loves me and He cares.  It’s one thing for someone to care for you, but to love you and care for you…what an incredible combination.  Every problem, situation and concern on my heart right now – God cares.  Every problem, situation and concern on YOUR heart right now – He Cares.

It’s simple, but if you catch it, walk in it and believe it -it will change your life. Sure thoughts have already come back, but you know my response…God cares.  I don’t have to worry.

I pray you realize today how much God loves you and that He really cares for you. Go ahead and cast all that’s on your heart onto him.  He can handle it and don’t worry my friend – He cares.

Have a beautiful care-free day beloved…because He cares!

Love In Christ,

Alexis

Watch your mouth…

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

I don’t know about you, but growing up, I heard my parents say this phrase to me a few times. It was often after I said something a little too jazzy or not quite copacetic. Sometimes it was met with a pop in the mouth, but I’ll be honest it was always warranted. Yet here I sit not as a kid anymore, but more and more I find myself telling me or someone I love dearly…“watch your mouth”. In adulthood it’s not for saying something flippant, but for not speaking life.

My friends who know me well will be the first to tell you I am real big on being positive. I once had a friend tell me I was too positive and it wasn’t realistic. Bless her heart! If you say something negative around me, I have the tendency to either rebuke it if it concerns me, or correct it – to change it for the positive – verbally. It’s a gift God has given me that I proudly use. You can say what you want, but I do not have to accept it or receive it. The world speaks negative all day everyday and I refuse to be a part of that destructive party.

In Proverbs, it tells us that this one tongue in our mouth has so much power. It can either speak life or death and the choice is ours. I know some have become so oblivious, they don’t even realize they are speaking negatively. Others become offensive when you change their negative words to positive. But I have decided to choose life. So any and everything that does not line up with life and life more abundantly must be eradicated. If you think about this scripture, we have a pretty big choice. We are not robots and God gave us free will. So if life and death options stand before you – why wouldn’t you choose life – unless you really don’t realize when you choose negativity you choose death. When opportunities, relationships, life, health, love, dreams and goals stand before you, you have the option of how you’re going to receive them, how you’re going to see them and how you will respond. I urge you, and even beg of you – choose life. Practice it until it becomes second nature. Watch what you are declaring and speaking and subconsciously telling yourself. It may be a fact that no one in your family ever went to college, but declare the truth, that was until you decided to go and finish. Stop saying you can’t find a job, declare that you are moments away from the job God has ordained for you. Stop saying no one loves you – God loves you and will send the love of a lifetime when the time is right. Stop saying you hate your life – some people would love to have your life and as long as you are alive things can change. Change your confession and watch your mouth and then watch your life change before your eyes. Life changes when your perspective changes. You may still be in the same situation, but when you choose to speak life to that thing…believe me, it changes you. I know I keep saying it, but I want you to get it in your head and heart and live it in your life. When something negative is on the tip of your tongue I want you to hear this scripture and tell yourself to watch your mouth. It’s a gift to be able to think and speak and respond to this brilliant life. I just ask that you be vigilant with those gifts and don’t squander them away by choosing death with your words. Proverbs is clear when it says that life and death is in the power of the tongue and I want you to choose life my friend. Choose life every time. Even if you mess up and say something negative, reverse that thing and declare something positive.

Just like really fit and healthy folks watch what goes in their mouths, we as Christians need to watch what comes out of ours. Is it uplifting? Is it life-giving? Is it positive and affirming? Then speak it – shout it from the mountain tops. But if it’s degrading and negative and mean and destructive and averse, shut it down – watch your mouth.

And one more thing while we’re talking. When you are on social media and reading people’s posts, be careful of what you read. Often time people are writing in the first person “I” and when you read it, it’s as if you are declaring what they are saying over yourself – watch your mouth. I now read post automatically in third person “She had a bad day and is sad.” “He is sick and doesn’t feel well”. I’m not reading the “I” in that and declaring it over my life – and neither should you. I know people are joking, but when they type “they are dead” to a joke – NO – you are alive. It can be said so innocently, but that is a trick of the enemy. Watch your mouth. You may think I’m a bit extreme, but just watch yourself for a week. Watch what you’re saying, watch what you’re reading and see if you are hearing and speaking life or death and then you adjust as you feel necessary.

I’ll end it with Proverbs 18:21 in the Message version – I don’t think it gets any clearer than this…

speak life

Watch your mouth and choose life!

Have a beautiful day my friend…full of life and life more abundantly!
